VESD uses ParentSquare as our primary platform for school communication. Families receive messages through email, app, voice, or text, helping everyone stay informed and involved.
 
An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in our student information system. We encourage you to activate your account to download the free mobile app, set your language preferences, and choose how and when you’d like to receive messages.
 
What you can do with ParentSquare:

Common questions and quick answers about using ParentSquare at VESD.

How do I join ParentSquare?
Most families receive an email or text invite from school. Click the link to activate your account. You can also use the ParentSquare app and sign up with the same email/phone number you gave the school. If your info isn’t recognized, ask your school office to update their records.
Do I get messages even if I don’t register?
Yes. Schools can send you messages even before you register. Registering lets you comment, direct message, sign forms, and see student-specific items.
How do I confirm my contact details?
After you log in, look for “Action Required: Confirm Your Account Information.” You can also go to My Account → Confirm Contact Info to verify your email/phone, your child(ren), and your school affiliations.
How do I fix a name, phone, or email?
ParentSquare syncs with VESD’s student information system. Please contact your school office to correct official records. After they update, ParentSquare reflects the change after the next sync.
I have two ParentSquare accounts—can I merge them?
Yes. Log in to your main account → My Account → Combine with another account. You’ll then see all students in one place and can log in with any verified email/phone. (Staff and parent accounts can’t be merged, but you can switch between them under your name → Switch Account.)
I don’t see one of my children, classes, or schools.
First, confirm your account information and consider merging duplicate accounts. If something is still missing, contact your school so they can check the records and your affiliations.
How do I change my language?
  • Web: Your Name → My Account → Language Settings
  • App: ☰ (top left) → Account → Preferences → Language
Messages from schools are translated automatically to your selected language.
How do notifications work?
Choose Instant (messages as they’re sent) or Digest (one daily summary—recommended). Direct messages, urgent alerts, and time-sensitive posts send instantly. Manage settings on the web under My Account → Notification Settings or in the app under ☰ → Account → Notifications.
I’m getting messages but I’m not the right person. How do I stop them?
You can unsubscribe from texts by replying STOP and from emails by clicking Unsubscribe. To fully remove your contact from school records (including emergency notifications), please contact the school or VESD.
I can’t log in or register—what should I do?
Ask your school to confirm that your name, email, and phone exactly match their student information system. Once corrected, ParentSquare updates after the next sync. If issues persist, the school’s ParentSquare administrator can escalate with support.
